POMPOSA ABBEY

Old monastic complex founded in the 6th century A.D., made up of the church, the monastery, the bell tower and Palazzo della Ragione.
The bell tower, built in 1063, is 40 metres tall and is one of the most beatiful romanic towers.
Among the personalities that made Pomposa so famous, Dante Alighieri and Guido da Pomposa, inventor of the modern musical notation.
